One thing on several boards
A note, a task list, a picture or anything else on a board can show on other boards as well. It is the same thing in each place, not a copy. Change it on one board, and every board shows the change.
Show something on another board too
Section titled “Show something on another board too”- Select it. You can select several things at once.
- Right-click it, or choose More in the actions bar above it.
- Choose Also show on.
- Choose a day or a board in the list, or type to find one.
The message “Also on Launch.” has Undo. If it was there already, the message says “Already on Launch.”
It lands to the right of everything already on that board, level with the top. Several things keep how they sit together, with their sizes and colours.
The Notes page and the Files page have Also show on in a note’s or a file’s menu too. See The Notes page and The Files page.
Add to Today
Section titled “Add to Today”Add to Today (⇧⌘DCtrl+Shift+D), in the node menu, shows the selection on today’s board in one step: “Added to Today.” A task card’s task joins today’s My tasks list instead. Today’s own board doesn’t offer it. Putting a task on a day has more.
A day’s own task lists, such as My tasks, belong to their day, so they can’t be shown anywhere else. A section belongs to its board in the same way.
Choose where it goes
Section titled “Choose where it goes”Also show on opens a list where the menu was:
- Find a day or a board, a field to type in.
- Days: Today and Tomorrow, each with its date, and Pick a day, which opens a month to choose any day.
- Boards: Braindump, then every project and board, the most recently changed first. Beside each is where it lives, such as “Tuesday, 20 October › Trip ideas”, or “Project” for a project that lives on no board.
Typing narrows both lists to the names and places that hold every word you type. When nothing fits, the list says so, and suggests fewer words.
Press ↑↑ and ↓↓ to move, ↵Enter to choose, and EscEsc to close. A click chooses too, and a click outside the list closes it.
The list leaves out boards that can’t take it: the board you are on, and the boards a single thing is on already. For a board’s card, it also leaves out that board and the boards inside it, so a board never holds itself.

What is shared, and what each board keeps
Section titled “What is shared, and what each board keeps”What a thing holds is the same everywhere: a note’s title and words, a list’s tasks, a picture and its caption, a table’s cells, a sticky note’s words.
Each board keeps its own:
- where the thing sits, and its size,
- its colour,
- the section it is in, if any,
- the links drawn to it on that board.
To make a separate copy instead, use Duplicate (⌘DCtrl+D). To move something to another board, rather than show it on both, Cut it (⌘XCtrl+X) and Paste it there (⌘VCtrl+V). Selecting and moving explains both.
What “On 3 boards” means
Section titled “What “On 3 boards” means”A thing on more than one board says so at the foot of its card: “On 3 boards”, with a layers icon. Notes, task lists, clocks, pictures, PDFs, web links and board cards show it. A task shows the name of the other board beside it, with the same icon.
Sticky notes, tables, text, shapes and drawings don’t show the count. Boards in the Trash aren’t counted.
Remove from this board, or delete everywhere
Section titled “Remove from this board, or delete everywhere”There are two ways to take something off a board. They do the same thing for something on one board only. They differ for something on several boards.
| Remove from this board | Delete everywhere | |
|---|---|---|
| On this board only | It goes to the Trash. | It goes to the Trash. |
| On other boards too | It leaves this board. The other boards keep it. | Bloomingo asks first, then it leaves every board and goes to the Trash. |
| Restored from the Trash | It comes back on this board, where it was. | It comes back on every board it was on. |
Remove from this board
Section titled “Remove from this board”Select it and press ⌫Backspace. Or choose Remove from this board (the cross) in the actions bar or the node menu. It works on several things at once.
- Something also on other boards leaves this board only, and says “Removed from this board.”
- Something on this board only goes to the Trash, and says “Moved to Trash.”
Both messages have Undo.
Delete everywhere
Section titled “Delete everywhere”Select one thing and press ⇧⌘⌫Ctrl+Shift+Backspace, or choose Delete everywhere in the node menu. It works on one thing at a time.
Something on more than one board asks first. The question names up to three of its boards, then how many more, for example: “It’s on Launch, Today and Trip ideas, and deleting removes it from all of them. You can restore it from Trash for 30 days.”
- Delete everywhere takes it off every board and puts it in the Trash.
- Remove from this board takes it off this board only, as above.
- Cancel changes nothing.
Something on this board only goes to the Trash at once, without a question. Either way, the message “Moved to Trash.” has Undo.

What waits in the Trash, and for how long
Section titled “What waits in the Trash, and for how long”Kept for 30 days: boards, pictures, PDFs and web links; notes, tasks, task lists, tables and sticky notes with words in them; and clocks that have timed something. Until then you can restore them from the Trash, or delete them for good yourself. After 30 days, the Trash deletes them for good. See The Trash.
Not kept: text, shapes, drawings, and cards with nothing written in them. The message says “Deleted.” instead. Undo brings them back while Bloomingo stays open. The next time Bloomingo opens, they are gone.
A few special cases
Section titled “A few special cases”- A board’s only card. When removing a card would leave its board out of reach, Bloomingo asks whether to keep the board in Projects or delete it. See Boards inside boards.
- A section. ⌫Backspace removes the section only, and what was in it stays. See Sections.
- A task on the timeline. Deleting a task card takes its block off the day’s timeline too. Deleting the block on the timeline deletes the task card as well. See The timeline.
