Privacy policy
What we keep about you, why, and for how long. In short: the website keeps your email address if you join the waitlist, and the app keeps your boards on your device.
Last updated 24 October 2026.
Who we are
Bloomingo is made by Doddle Software Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 16256282. Our registered office is at 127 Foundry Lane, Southampton, SO15 3LD, England. We decide how the personal data described here is used. You can reach us at hello@doddle.software.
The website
Your email address, if you join the waitlist
When you join the waitlist, we keep the email address you type and when you gave it. We use it to send you one email, when Bloomingo is ready to download. We use it for nothing else.
We email you because you asked us to: your consent is our lawful basis (UK GDPR, Article 6(1)(a)). You can change your mind at any time: reply to the email, or write to us.
Where it is kept, and for how long
- Your address is kept by Cloudflare, our host, in a database held in the European Union.
- We keep it until we have sent the email that Bloomingo is ready, then delete it within 30 days. You can leave sooner.
- When you leave, or ask us to delete your address, we delete it within 30 days.
Who else sees it
We never sell your address or share it for advertising. Cloudflare keeps it for us, as our host. Before we send the email that Bloomingo is ready, we will name here the service that sends it for us.
Cookies and analytics
The website sets no tracking cookies, and it has no analytics yet. If we add a privacy-friendly analytics tool, this page will name it first. Our host, Cloudflare, may keep short-lived technical logs, such as IP addresses, to run the site and keep it secure.
The app
Bloomingo isn't released yet. This is how the app is built to handle your data.
Your boards stay on your device
- Your boards, notes, tasks and files are saved on your device, and the app works offline.
- Search runs on your device.
- There are no ads, and no analytics or tracking of what you write.
- The app connects only to Bloomingo's own services, for sync, licences and updates. Buying will open a checkout in your browser.
- When you put a web link on a board, the app asks that website for the page's title and picture. Only the link's address is sent.
- If something goes wrong, the app keeps a log on your device that holds none of your content. It reaches us only if you copy it and send it.
- Export everything at any time: notes as Markdown, files as they are, boards as JSON.
Sync, when it arrives
Sync between your devices will be end-to-end encrypted. Only your devices hold the key, so we can't read your boards. If you lose every device and your recovery key, we can't recover your notes. When you turn sync on, our server keeps your account's email address, the devices you've added, the encrypted copies of your boards and files, and how much storage they use.
Your trial
The 14-day trial is counted on your device, from the first time you open Bloomingo. Nothing about it leaves your device until you sign in. Once you do, your account keeps when your first device's trial started, so every device counts from then.
Buying a licence
- Paddle, our reseller and the merchant of record, runs the checkout. It takes your payment details, name, email address and country, works out tax and sends your receipt. We never see your card number. Paddle'sprivacy notice says how it handles them.
- From Paddle, our licence service keeps what a licence needs: a code made from your email address (not the address itself), Paddle's numbers for your order and for you as its customer, which licence you bought and at which price, a creator's code if you used one, and when you bought it or were refunded.
- When a signed-in device asks for its licence, about once a day, our service sees which device is asking and when, to count the 5 devices a licence covers.
- If you buy as a student, we email a code to your school address to check it. We keep it for 10 minutes and use the address for nothing else.
- If your trial ends and you don't buy, we email you once, 23 days later, and after 30 days we delete the encrypted copy of your boards on our server. Your devices keep everything.
- We keep the record of your licence (your email address and the devices it is on) while the licence lasts, and for 6 years after it ends or is refunded, as UK tax and accounting rules ask. Paddle keeps its own record of your order, as its privacy notice says.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we keep about you, to correct it or to delete it. You can also object to how we use it. Write to hello@doddle.software. If you're unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. These are your rights under UK data protection law; if you live in the EU, you have the same under the EU's, and may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we update the date at the top. If a change matters to how we use your data and we have your email address, we'll tell you before it takes effect.
