How Bloomingo keeps your boards private
Your plans say a lot about you. Today, everything you put in Bloomingo stays on your device.

Today, your boards stay on your device
This is how the app works now.
Saved on your device
Every board, note, task and file is saved on your device. Nothing you write is sent to us.
Works without the internet
Everything opens and saves offline. The app reads from your device, never from a server.
Search stays on your device
When you search with ⌘K, the index lives on your device and the search runs there.
Nothing is tracked
No ads, and no analytics or tracking of what you write.
Only our own services
The app connects only to Bloomingo's own services, for sync, licences and updates. Buying will open a checkout in your browser.
One exception: web links
When you put a web link on a board, Bloomingo asks that website for the page's title and picture. Nothing else you wrote is sent.
Diagnostics stay with you
If something goes wrong, the app keeps a log on your device that holds none of your content. It reaches us only if you copy it and send it.
Yours to take
Export everything at any time: notes as Markdown, files as they are, boards as JSON. Until sync arrives, your boards are only on the device you use, so export them to keep a copy.
Sync between your devices will be end-to-end encrypted
Sync isn't built yet. This is how it is designed. We'll publish more detail once it's built and checked.
Encrypted before it leaves your device
Sync between your devices will be end-to-end encrypted. Only your devices will hold the key, so we won't be able to read your boards.
A recovery key, shown once
When you turn on sync, Bloomingo will show you a recovery key one time. Keep it somewhere safe, like a password manager or a printed page.
Adding a device
A new device will join by scanning a QR code on a device that's already signed in, or by entering your recovery key.
If you lose every device and the key
Your notes won't be recoverable. Because only your devices will hold the key, we won't be able to unlock them for you.
